President Rodrigo Duterte imagined himself running after his daughter Inday Sara’s triplets by the time of his retirement; saying he could not be happier that he will soon be a grandfather to three more children.

In an article written by Trisha Macas of GMA News Online, it was disclosed that the president wishes good health on his daughter and the triplets.

“I am more than happy, so I prayed to God sincerely na bigyan sana ng magandang health ang anak ko, si Inday para—hiling ko lang, basta normal lang ang mga bata [to give good health to my daughter, Inday — my only wish is for the kids to be normal]. I’ll be happy,” he said.

“By that time, retire na ako. But hayaan mo nalang akong tigahabol niyang mga iyan. Kung ibigay ng Panginoong Diyos ha [By that time, I’m already retired. But I will be the one to run after them, if God would give me the chance]. Inshallah. Inshallah,” he added.

When the triplets come out, Duterte will then be a granddad to 12 kids. So far, he has five grandchildren from Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, two from Sara, and two from Sebastian Duterte.

Inday Sara’s triplets

Last week, Inday Sara announced that she is seven weeks pregnant with triplets, explaining why she was not present during the Kadayawan Festival.

“On this happy note, I would also like to share with you the news that I am pregnant and cannot join you in merrymaking activities. We are expecting triplets and they are doing well on their 7th week,” she said.

Sara said it’s been a difficult pregnancy so far. Still, she vowed to continue working as long as her health permits.

“The human body is made to carry just one baby and I am experiencing threefold all the pregnancy symptoms that a woman goes through. I will continue to work until I am allowed by the doctors to do so, however, I have been advised to avoid crowded places to lessen the chances of acquiring infections,” she stated.

Inday Sara’s pregnancy also explains her absence during the first State of the Nation Address of her father.
