Due to Senator Leila De Lima’s initiation to conduct a Senate probe regarding on extra-judicial killings, the President Duterte’s allies are now facing tension and frustration that lead the Philippine National Police Chief Director Gen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa to feel that why the Senate thinks that they are the enemies of our country.

Despite the number of drug pushers and users were caught and killed to eradicate bad influences in the Philippines, Bato said:

We are here to serve and protect.

Last Tuesday in the Senate probe, the fellow Philippine Military Academy alumnus of Dela Rosa; Senator Gringo Honasan asked the PNP chief to explain the policemen’s frustration right on the first day of the hearing, Bato immediately response that they are only human, risking their lives and asking for a balanced treatment.

For transparency and as their obligations, policemen are responsible for filing a case if any of the PNP officials have committed any crimes, and this saddens Dela Rosa. He also recalls filing charges against his men (PO2 Alipio Balo Jr. and PO1 Michael Tomas) is one of the difficult situations he has to face.
