A big time drug pusher detainee was gunned,down on Friday morning by still unidentified sniper when he was about to have a court appearance,in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
The big time pusher was identified as RG Cuenco,Guico of Barangay Barra, Dipolog City disclosed by Police Chief Superintendent Lito Abaya. Revealed in,the police investigation that upon disembarking from the vehicle of Bureau of Jail,and Penology (BJMP) At around 9:30am. He was with another detainee named Arjay Recocosa. According to crime investigation, the shooter might have had positioned himself at about,40 meters away when he shot Guico.
Although hit and wounded, Guico was able to run,inside the Hall of Justice with Recocosa and with the BJMP escorts. He was hit on his right chest. Guico and Recocosa,was set to appear at the sala of Branch 10 where they are charged with the violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The wounded drug pusher was then rushed,to the Corazon Aquino Hospital but expired while undergoing medical operation.
According to Andaya, the unidentified assassin,was quick to find escape on board a white van and was not known which direction the assassin took. Up to this writing, the police is yet to identify which type,of gun was used for the assassination.
The police believes that the motive is to keep,Guico silent. Guico was detained for the last seven years at the Dipolog City Correctional,and Rehabilitation Center for his involvement in the illegal drug trade. PSUPT Andaya said that they will keep the,investigation ongoing in order to identify the said mastermind of the assassination.
