ABS-CBN Kapamilya reporter Atom Araullo has resigned from his duties for TV Patrol, Bandila, and ANC.

However, Araullo remains as one of the hosts for the TV station’s morning show, "Umagang Kay Ganda", and "Red Alert" according to columnist Noel Ferrer.

Lately, Araullo has been vocal of expressing his opinion on several issues, such as the controversy on the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani and certain policies of the present administration.

This has prompted the reporter to resign instead of being accused as a biased reporter which could affect the integrity of the News Department.

According to the report of FashionPulis, Araullo will utilize his time to complete his pending book projects, explore opportunities to pursue his interest in crafting independent films, and perhaps write a column in one of the major daily newspaper.

His resignation from his post will enable him to express his opinions freely and not be limited by his affiliation to a news organization.

Araullo started his early career in the broadcast industry as one of the host in 5 and Up. He then became a segment producer of ABS-CBN after he completed his degree and became a field reporter eventually.
