While most of us focus on what our newly elected President Duterte can do for our country, the Vice President Leni Robredo announced today that she’s now in a position to make dreams happen.

It has been a month when Leni was elected as the new Philippines’ Vice President. We are all aware of the struggles she went through with Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during the election days but despite it all, Leni said it was all worth it especially she has now the power to make her plans to be implemented for the betterment of the citizens.
I’m now in a position to make dreams happen. In the sense that there was so much I wanted to do before but my power and my authority was limited. Now I’m in a position where I can get things done.
From being the simple wife of late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, VP Leni’s schedule is now divided between non-governmental organizations and advocacies she wants to pursue. She dedicates her time every Mondays to Thursday for meeting with stakeholders and her Friday and Saturday’s schedule goes for community visits.

During in a one-on-one interview with Maria Ressa, VP Leni shares on how she adjust her time based on the new environment.

When you’re Vice President, it’s an entirely different thing from being a congresswoman and I realize that now. When I was still a member of the House of Representatives I could sort of still maintain a very private life.
I go around, I drive myself still. I realize now that ever time I go home, it’s a big production: security people, staff around you. In a way it’s irritating but it’s also something you have to accept and trying to find a middle ground is always a challenge.
