Known as a Liberal Party supporter, Jim Parades who came from an upper class family made himself in the hot seat again after he released fully degraded comment for the Mindanaoan people.

A Facebook comment of Jim Paredes sparked outrage among netizens after the legendary OPM artist degraded the Mindanaoan people and called them ‘Mountain People’ because of his disappointment to the support that received by martial law in Mindanao.

The recording artists accused the older people of Mindanao who experienced the Martial Law during Marcos regine for being silent and not opposing the Martial Law of President Rodrigo Duterte while the young ones in Luzon are noisy in opposing it.

He said that Mindanaoan people doesn’t care about the Martial Law in Mindanao because people of Luzon would be the one who pay the consequences of the decision of President Duterte.

“Mga kabataan na lang ba talaga ang hindi nakakalimot sa sinapit ng mga pilipino sa panahon ng martial law? Nakakalungkot isipin dahil yung mga matanda na kung sino payung nakaranas sa hagip ng martial law sila pa yung nanahimik,” he said in a Facebook comment.

“Tapos yung mga taga-Mindanao na taong bundok sila pa yung gusto na mag martial law dahil alam nila na hindi sila ang malalagay sa alanganin kundi kami taga luzon,” he added.

The comment of Paredes received criticisms from the netizens who believes that the words of the OPM artist for the Mindanaoan people was very offensive.

The netizens were also shocked because last week, Paredes even tweeted and asking for donations that would help the victims of Marawi Terrorist Attack.

Last week President Rodrigo Duterte declared Martial Law in the whole island of Mindanao.

Despite of the warning from some Martial Law victims during Marcos regime, the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte received tremendous amount of support from the Filipino people especially from the Mindanaoans who believes that the Martial Law is the last solution to bring peace in Mindanao.

Mindanao since the old times experienced social injustice and being neglected because of the so called ‘Manila imperialism’

This is also the reason why there’s a war in Mindanao because the Mindanaoans felt that they were being downed by the people from Imperial Manila.
