After a video of a blind father and his 5-year old,daughter was released, it gained a lot of attention from the netizens and quickly became viral. In,the video, the girl guides his father as they make their way to copra farm where he would climbs,coconut trees for living. 
Nelson Pepe, also known as "Dodong", earns around P300 a,day by climbing almost 60 coconut trees with P5 pesos per tree. Despite his disability, he still manages,to this everyday just so he can provide for his family. But to do this, he still need,help and her daughter "Jenny" is doing a good job on it. This touched the hearts of the netizens until it reached,Rated K, an evening program in ABS-CBN hosted by Korina Sanchez. 
The Rated K team went to Sogod, Sorsogon to,pay a visit to the family. Firstly, they brought him to Manila to have his eyes checked. Unfortunately, the doctors,said that he might no be able to regain eyesight due to retinal detachment and,retinitis pigmentosa. According to the doctors, this is somehow hereditary. And so, Rated K decided to,have Jenny checked-up as well. Good news is, her eyes are perfectly fine. 
With the help of ABS-CBN and Rated K, Dodong will have,an undergo livelihood training. The local Social Welfare would also give them a,capital of P10,000 to start up a Sari-sari store. Furthermore, he will be given seeds of Ampalaya and pigs,for additional income. Finally, Rated K also helped to relocate the family to,Barangay Libas, a safer environment.
