LOOK: Bomb-Making Materials Seized in Raid; Marwan Trained Bomb-Maker Escapes

It was a raid conducted following intelligence reports stating that Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were kept in the village of Maulad, Barangay Dungguan, M'lang, located in the periphery of the Liguasan Marsh.

Intelligence reports said the IEDs used in the Davao City bombing Sept. 2 and the toppling of the Power Transmission Lines in Carmen, North Cotabato may have come from the area.

Led by Police Supt. Emmanuel Peralta, the policemen who were armed with search warrants also arrested a bomb-making trainee identified as Omar Buisan.

The main target of the raid, bomb-maker Anwar Sandigan, however, was able to monitor the arrival of the troops who used military trucks to get to the village near the marshland where known terrorist groups are based.

Sandigan, a graduate of the M'lang National High School, was reportedly one of the young radicals trained by Malaysian terrorist Marwan who was killed in another raid in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last year where 44 members of the Special Action Force were killed.
