According to ABS-CBN, Aguirre shared that the government official told him that De Lima, who was then the Justice Secretary, personally received from him the drug payoff.
“Ito po ay tinanggap nang personal mismo ni Sec. De Lima at nang ito ay ideliver nang umagang-umaga, naka-duster pa yata siya at nandoon si Ronnie Dayan sa bahay,” Aguirre said in a radio interview.
[It was personally received by none other than Secretary De Lima, who was wearing a duster when the money was delivered very early in the morning, and Ronnie Dayan was there.]
Ronnie Dayan used to be De Lima’s personal driver/bodyguard and was rumored to be her lover.
President Rodrigo Duterte accused Dayan of being the bagman of De Lima. The President said Dayan collected money from the drug lords inside the national penitentiary. The money was allegedly used as campaign funds by De Lima when she ran for senator in the May 9, 2106 elections.
Aguirre earlier revealed that 10 to 12 NBP inmates, including High-profile inmates Herbert Colangco and Noel Martinez, would testify against Senator De Lima.
