A top Hungarian diplomat who is also a member,of the European Union vowed not to interfere with the internal affairs of the Philippines amidst,criticisms from EU calling on to the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte to stop,his campaign against illegal drugs.


Hungarian foreign and trade minister Péter,Szijjártó  told reporters it will never “judge or criticize” Duterte.


He said that Hungary is not a country,that comments on the affairs of other nations.

“Actually, we are a country which never,comments on internal and domestic issues. We understand that it’s only Filipino people who have the,right to make a decision about who is leading this country and as we expect others not to judge and,criticize our domestic and internal developments, we will never judge and criticize internal,developments of other countries,” he said.

Szijjártó  was the EU first foreign minister,from  the 28 to visit the Philippines and President Duterte’s hometown, Davao City.

“Hungary attaches a great significance to,the cooperation with the Philippines as a the major Christian country in (ASEAN) region,” he said.

A memorandum of understanding,(MOU) between the Foreign Service institute and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign,Affairs and Trade’s Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade (IIFAT) was signerd by Foreign affairs acting,secretary Enrique Manalo and Szijjarto.
