After criticizing the War On Drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte last year, it seems that the European Union changes its tune after they announced that they are now going to support the Philippines against illegal drugs.

Now the European Union offered its assistance to the Duterte administration for rehabilitation of drug addicts.

The EU Ambassador to Manila Franz Jessen revealed that European Union is currently studying the possibility of shifting its assistance from health sector to rehabilitation of drug addicts.

He also said that EU is now cooperating with the DOH to help the illegal drug war of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“We are trying to see if we should change the funding and focus more on the drug issue which is a key project for the government,” Ambassador Jessen revealed during an interview.

Last year, European Union condemned the unstoppable killings of alleged drug sellers and addicts during the War On Drugs of Duterte which angered the President.

The Palace is now expected a better ties with European Union after they expressed their willingness to work with the government to fight illegal drugs.
