President Rodrigo Duterte wanted his first State of the Nation Address to be professional, elegant yet simple. He wanted celebrities and politicians to wear business attires and avoid grandiose attires that makes the walk to the Batasang Pambansa appear like an Awards Night or a Fashion show.
Former head-turners Heart Evangelista, Lucy Torres- Gomez and other celebrity politicians dressed according to the wishes of the President, simple yet still refined and filled with elegance.
Many voiced out their approval of the new theme for the SONA saying it felt different knowing that no one is going to upstaged anyone anymore.
