Another Filipino Pride has been bagged by a,Filipino-American chef has been making a name in New York.

A newly opened restaurant in New York is,owned by Chef Jordan Andino, a rising star in the Big Apple food scene.

The celebrity Fil-Am Chef Andino, who,is now 27 yrs. old, finally fulfilled the dream of his 11-year-old self, as he opens his first restaurant which he names as "2nd City" in West Village, New York. 

Quoting from his statement, he said ""It's Amasian, meaning,American-Asian cuisine. We're a Filipino taqeria, fast casual concept," 

He emphasized how the restaurant showcases Filipino,flavors in their burritos, tacos and bowls. "We're definitely not trying at all to be traditional Filipino. The Filipino purist would hate this place," he said.

He also went into details,about their food and said:

"The tacos, it’s like a fish taco barracuda and,short rib, with some bokchoi and some pickled chili, what no one knows is that the main sauce on it is sinigang. I reduced a sinigang and it always tastes good. No one knows, but if you’re Filipino and you have it and you’re oh, it tastes like sinigang," he said.
Then of course, he didn't,forget Filipinos' favorite- Adobo. The restaurant incorporated it with burrito, calling it 'Adoborito'.
"Adobo in a burrito, I would,have it with a suka, it’s really good," he said.

He didn't forget to include Filipinos' love for "prito" as one the favorites in the restaurant is called Plan-b-rito" which is mixed Filipino favorites like longganisa, ham and egg.

Aldino who was raised up in Canada, and trained in Napa and New York have started in the cooking industry, when he was 9 and had 13 years of experience starting from his father's restaurant.

He shared:

"At 9 years, I would start swatting flies, peeling,shrimp, taking out the garbage, cleaning the trashcan, sweeping and mopping,the back, literally, summer-winter from 9 years old to 17 that’s all I would do," he said.
With this, he immediately rise to,stardom and became a celebrity chef.
Sharing his experience, he said:
"18 television episodes of cooking competitions, bravo, that one and I cooked for the Kardashians, but honestly all of that,doesn’t really help in terms of like my skills, it helps with pressure, I can handle pressure more," 

He also shared that his,bigger dreams and said, 

"What I envisioned is refining Filipino food to the point of Michelin star cuisine, that’s what I envisioned,"

He shared that he also dreams to,branch out in every city in the United States.
