The Supreme Court junks the plunder case,against her filed by the Sandiganbayan about the misused funds of the state-run Philippine,Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
SC Spokesman Theodore Te told a press conference,Tuesday afternoon that the Court annulled the criminal case for “insufficiency of evidence” and ordered her “immediate release.”
The SC judges voted 11-4 in favor of the,Former President, Arroyo thanks President Rodrigo Duterte and the Supreme Court about the decision.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the honorable members of the Supreme Court for finally stopping the persecution I had unjustly gone through the last five years. My most profound appreciation to His Excellency Rodrigo Duterte for allowing due process to take its course,” said Arroyo
The 11 justices who ruled in favor of the former president are:
