Actress Vivian Velez revealed something shocking about the mother of Jim Paredes who faced criticisms after he confronted a youth group during the People Power Revolution Anniversary rally in EDSA.

According to Ms. Velez, Jim Paredes mother, Ester Paredes Jimenez is one of the members of the upperclass group during martial law era called “light-a-fire-movement”.

She revealed that the group was responsible in different terrorism acts happened during the martial law period like the Rustan’s bombing that killed innocent civilians.


“Meron hugot kasi… Jim keeps harping about the EJK or the people who died from drugs when his own mother was very much part of the LIGHT A FIRE MOVEMENT along w/ Steve Psinakis. They were responsible for bombing different establishments here including the old Philippine Plaza where innocent people died,” She wrote

Ms. Velez also narrated how artist Nonoy Zuñiga lost his leg after the explosion happed at the Westin Philippine Plaza’z Siete Pecados bar.

She also said that former President Cory Aquino pardoned the members of the movement.

“This was where Nonoy Zuñiga lost his leg! Guess who pardoned her mother when she got jailed? Cory… So how can he talk about killing the innocent when his own mother has blood on her hands!” She added.

Until now, its some people still debated if the light-a-fire movement is a terrorist group because of the bombings that they did.

According to the sources, Light-A-Fire movement is a group of social democrats, different from the national democrats which also opposed the Marcos regime.

One of the members of the movement, Victors Burns Lovely Jr. nearly killed after a bomb that he prepared for another attack exploded in his Manila YMCA room.

Some of their members also got arrested for the alleged involvement in the PICC Bombing including Ninoy Aquino.

In 1984, the mother of Jim Paredes together with the other members of Light-A-Fire Movement was arrested and sentenced to die by electric chair.
