On Monday, March 6, 2017, a hearing was held at the senate to accommodate the testimonies of SPO3 Arturo Lascanas against President Rodrigo Duterte.
In his statements, Lascanas named a few people whom he was apparently ordered to kill by the then-Mayor of Davao.
One of the people mentioned was a certain Ruben Borja Baguio, a former dance instructor of the president's sister, Jocellyn Duterte-Villarica.
Lascanas claimed on Monday that Duterte asked him and other men to bury the dance instructor alive due to a misunderstanding he had with his Jocellyn Duterte-Villarica.
On Tuesday, however, netizens were shocked when news that Ruben Borja Baguio is still alive came up. The news was announced by the dance instructor himself on the popular social media site, Facebook.
The following is what he had to say about Lascanas' claims on Monday:
“Anong problema nyo??!ayusin nyo yang mga style ninyo!wala na talaga kayo magawa at masabi?pati nanahimik kong buhay inuusisa nyo!”
“I am ruben borja baguio ,yes,buhay ako!totoong D.i ako ni mam jocellyn duterte anong masama sa trabaho ko??at i want to clarify sa lahat ng makakabasa sa post ko na HINDI TOTOONG PINATAY AKO! Buhay na buhay po ako. Nagtratrabaho ako ng marangal kaya please lang STOP the issue!”
Due to this surprising turn of events, netizens are convinced that Lascanas may not be a reliable source when it comes to evidence of the existence and operations of the 'Davao Death Squad'.
