A composite team composed of personnel from the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Police Regional Office 3 and Pampanga Police Provincial Office swooped down on a piggery and poultry farm in Pampanga where a shabu laboratory is being operated by a drug syndicate.

According to Inquirer, the anti-drug operation was led by PDEA director for the National Capital Region Wilkins Villanueva.

Armed with a search warrant issued by the Cabanatuan City court, the raiding team on Wednesday, September 7, went to the farm at Barangay Balitucan, Sitio Cabayung Sarol, Magalang town. The shabu laboratory was found concealed under a warehouse used to store hog feeds.

The raiding team recovered several apparatus and equipment used in manufacturing the illegal substance. At least two kilos of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was also recovered.

Seven Chinese nationals, who were inside the compound during the raid, were arrested. They identified as Luey Wang, Philip Chang, Wang Shi Xu, Xiao Po, Sonny Si, Alvin Wang who also used the name James and a woman who identified herself as Susan.

Alvin Wang denied any knowledge of the existence of the shabu laboratory. He said he was operating the farm for two years and he did not know there is a shabu laboratory underneath the warehouse where feeds are milled and mixed.

Five children, whose ages range from 7 to 15, were also found in the piggery farm. They were taken into custody by social workers.

Villanueva said the laboratory was part of a network of five facilities supplying shabu in Luzon.
