Overseas Workers Welfare Administration or OWWA and the Department of Trade and Industry signed a memorandum of agreement to give an Enhance Entrepreneurial Training to OFWs who wants to start a business in the country, they will be exposed to programs and events that they can promote their business, once the training is done they can now avail up to P2 Million loan from the government.
The load is under the OFW-Enterprise Developement and Loan Program (OFW-EDLP) in partnership with Land Bank of the Philippines and the Development Bank of the Philippines.
OWWA Director Albert Valenciano said that the program is available to all OWWA members, active or not.
Hindi po kailangan na active member ang ating OFW, kundi at one time ay siya po ay naging member po ng OWWA
OFWs that are still outside of the country can also avail the program, they just need a family member to work with OWWA regarding their case.
According to OWWA’s Reintegration Program, there is a 2 Billion-Peso Reintegration Fund for enterprise development is a loan facility in cooperation with the Land Bank of the Philippines and the Development Bank of the Philippines, where a member or their legal dependent can avail of Php 300,000.00 to Php 2 million.
