The Office of the President’s proposed budget for 2017 which is P19.99 billion was approved by the House of Committee in less than 10 minutes.

Compared to the previous administration wherein, it took them weeks before their budget was approved.
In line with this, Rizaline Justol the OP’s Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Administration said on Tuesday:
“The P15.4 billion was intended to cover the expenses for the leader’s summit, the senior’s official meeting, as well as the activity for the 50th founding anniversary of the ASEAN in 2017.

Meanwhile, from P500million proposed budget increased up to P2 billion as the confidential and intelligence funds to sustain the anti-drug campaign of President Duterte and his allies.

On the contrary, the Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman said that he would like to question the Office of the President regarding on the 607% increased to the budget. However, the Minority Leader Quezon Rep.Danilo Suarez reiterates that they decided not to grill or ask more questions to the President.
