Senator Alan Peter Cayetano said Monday that while Vice President Leni Robredo has every right to be “vigilant,” it was unfair to tag the Duterte administration of being behind a supposed plot to steal the vice presidency. “Siyempre dapat naman talaga vigilant si Vice President Leni Robredo pero is it fair na idadamay mo ang administrasyon? Hindi.
Because I know for a fact na hindi kumikilos ang administrasyon, one way or the other,” he said “As far as they’re concerned, tapos na ang eleksyon,” adding that there are other more “urgent” things to focus on other than politics. “If Bongbong Marcos and Leni Robredo have a fight, wag na nilang idamay ang Presidente dahil hindi naman siya kumikilos o wala siyang ginagawa,” he added.
Vice President Robredo should have raised her criticisms against the Duterte government during Cabinet meetings, where they can be properly addressed, instead of making statements in public. The senator said "If criticism will help you get things done, that’s good; but if you do the criticism outside, it slows things down instead of helping it get done,”
