Senator Alan Peter Cayetano has issued an open letter to television network questioning its credibility and bias report against the Duterte administration. In his Facebook post, Cayetano criticized ABS-CBN for posting a news article titled "To believe, or not to believe, President Duterte?" written by Agence France-Presse.

"There you go again. In this news article all those you mentioned have been discussed, debunked or at least explained. You know very well that taking someone seriously and taking someone literally are two different things," Cayetano wrote on Facebook. Cayetano said when former President PNoy promised to be run over by a train if the railway is not finished, no television network did question his statement:
"Did u harp on this or ask if he was believable? Did you call him to task for his statement?," he stated. "Yes we always take our President seriously but not always literally. So what's the point of your article?" he added. Cayetano even said ABS-CBN management claimed it was "neutral" during the last elections but the network showed its "favorites." He said the timing of ABS-CBN publication of Anti-duterte article seemed to be perfect amid Vice President Leni Robredo's call to unify the opposition as well as Loida Nichola's demand for Duterte to resign so Robredo could take over.
"The coincidence is striking to say the least. The President is abroad working hard to protect Filipinos working abroad, inviting foreign investments and building relationships. It's an international practice not to hit the President when he is representing the Country abroad, since hitting him means hitting the Country he represents," he said. "Yet you fire away! So May I respectfully ask...When to believe and not to believe ABS-CBN?," said Cayetano.
