Senator Ping Lacson praised PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa for his good performance in the fight against illegal drugs, in his opening statement during the senate probe of Rolando Espinosa slay.
Lacson, who once headed the PNP during Joseph Estrada’s administration, narrated their first meeting with Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.
He said Dela Rosa told him that officials in Crame are literally laughing at the payolas from illegal gambling because the payola they received in illegal drugs is bigger.
“I wanted to congratulate Ronald for being the presumptive chief PNP, but then good luck.. good luck sayo," Lacon said.
He also believes that the "triumph" of President Rodrigo Duterte during the elections and his appointment of Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa as the PNP Chief Director General is a blessing for the Filipino people because the issue on illegal drugs has been finally realized.
“And now.. I would like to think and I believe na blessing na rin pala ang pagkapanalo ni Pangulong DUterte sa bansa.. at sa mamamayang Piipino blessing na rin sa ating lahat sa ating mga anak sa mga kabataan ang pagkatalaga kay Chief PNP Dela Rosa na maging Chief PNP..kasi napabayaan po talaga overtime itong problema natin sa illegal drugs ngayon lang talaga napagtuunan ng pansin." Lacson said.
“I would like to state again for the record, Mabuti narin pala at nanalo si Pangulong Duterte at nandyaan na rin si Chief PNP Dela Rosa,” he added.
