Last Tuesday, Vice President Leni Robredo answered Sen. Bongbong Marcos allegations of stealing the victory as Vice President last May national elections."Parang between the two of us, ewan ko... kung sino 'yung mas may history ng pagnanakaw? Hindi yata ako," Leni said during an interview in Compostela Valley.
Leni's answer is her response to the issue that she and the Liberal Party stole' the vice presidency from rival Sen. Bongbong Marcos. In her statement, Leni referred to the allegation that the Marcos family benefitted from ill-gotten wealth acquired during the administration of late Ferdinand Marcos. Leni already resigned as the chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, after she was ordered not to attend Cabinet meetings.
Meanwhile, Marcos' camp already turned to the Supreme Court to seek due process to unseat Robredo. "It was they who thwarted the will of the Filipino people by depriving them of their real choice for the vice presidency. Her statement on the vice presidency is yet another affront to the Supreme Court as she is undermining the integrity and independence of Presidential Electoral Tribunal by casting doubt this early on, on all its future actions and processes," Marcos' spokesperson Vic Rodriguez said. Leni won the vice presidential race by just 263,473 votes.
