The Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno,announced yesterday that all the uniformed personnel in the Philippines will now be provided with rice,allowance equivalent to 20 kilos per month.
The non-salary benefit rice allowance of 20 kilos,per month will start this September until the next 12 months for 130,000 members of Armed Forces,of the Philippines (AFP), 150,000 PNP and 22,729 from the Bureau of Fire Protection and 8,835 Philippine’s Coast Guard.
Apparently, these 20 kilos of rice monthly is,one of the promised of President Rodrigo Duterte during his campaign, he also promised that he will,double the salaries of uniformed service.
But Diokno explained that the salary increase will eventually happen but not possible this 2016.

If you do you work well and serve the people faithfully, you will be rewarded. But if you engage in corrupt activities, make it hard for our people to access services, or just waste time until the clock strikes five, you will be dealt with accordingly. –Duterte
But Diokno explained that the salary increase will eventually happen but not possible this 2016.
Definitely, it will happen but not this year, because it involves a huge amount but we are looking for ways and means to fulfil the President’s promise. We will be able to fulfil the President’s promise of doubling their compensation starting in January 2018. Otherwise it could take six years or until 2022. –Budget Sec. Diokno
