On another impromptu sermon of Pope Francis on Thursday, the Roman Catholic Church Head slammed members of his own Church saying it is better to be an atheist rather than be a hypocritical catholic who leads a double life.

"It is a scandal to say one thing and do another. That is a double life," the pope said during his early private mass.

"There are those who say 'I am very Catholic, I always go to Mass, I belong to this and that association."

But according to Pope Francis, these people should instead say "my life is not Christian, I don't pay my employees proper salaries, I exploit people, I do dirty business, I launder money, [I lead] a double life'."

"There are many Catholics who are like this and they cause scandal, how many times have we all heard people say 'if that person is a Catholic, it is better to be an atheist'," the Pope emphasized, according to the transcripts of the Vatican Radio.

Pope Francis had always pointed out how Catholics, whether lay people or priests, should mind the way they live their life noting that they should practice the things their religion preaches.

Since he became pope in 2013, the 80-year-old man has condemned many Catholics who do evil such as priests who engage in sexual abuse which is as good as Satanic Mass, and even cardinals who acts like "princes".

Two months since the pope was elected, he said the goodness of atheists should be judge according to their goodness not on the fact that they are atheists.
