Former senator Francisco Tatad claimed that President Rodrigo Duterte went to China for a meeting with 'world-famous doctors.'

This is contrary to what presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella told to the Philippine Star that Duterte was "on extended private time."

According to Tatad's 'reliable sources', Duterte flew to China from Davao on a private executive plane "for a meeting with doctors at the world-famous Fuda Cancer Hospital in Guangzhou China(formerly Canton), Guangdong Province."

Tatad said that his information was 100 percent accurate that even people who approached him "were shocked that I was able to get my hands on the report," he said.

According to Politiko.com.ph, Duterte was last seen in public in December 30, 2016 during the commemoration of Rizal Day at Luneta and his visits to the victims of an explosion in Hilongos, Leyte.

After many days, Duterte surfaced again on January 5, 2017 when he was photographed seated at the economy class section of a Manila-bound Philippine Airlines flight from Davao.

Last November, rumors said that Duterte fainted twice, once during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Peru (APEC) and another in Malacañang.
