A group called Global Filipino Diaspora Council headed by LP supporter and Filipino-American philanthropist Loida Nicolas Lewis had their email exchanges leaked.
The emails were allegedly speaking of a plan to oust Duterte and of a social media strategy by the Vice President's staff to counter criticisms for her absence in Bicol during typhoon Nina.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said he told Duterte about the so-called “LeniLeaks” in a cabinet meeting and the president merely laughed.
“Sabi ko, “Mr. President, what can you say?” Sabi niya, “Sabihin mo, Martin, sa media na sabihin doon sa mga kung sino man ang nagpa-plano ng destabilization at kung sino mang sangkot dito sa ‘Leni Leaks’ na ito, I wish them all the success,” Andanar said.
He said National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. and the Department of Information and Communications Technology are already looking into “LeniLeaks.”
