President Rody Duterte said he may go after lawyers whose clients are drug lords. According to the president, drug lords can afford expensive lawyers who can manipulate the justice system.

 As a former prosecutor in Davao City, he had a first-hand experience with these kinds of lawyers who know every legal trick in the book to avoid the arrest or a conviction of a suspected criminal. One of these tricks is the changing of lawyers. Since drug lords have a lot of money, they can do this repeatedly in order to postpone the hearing.

 The changing of lawyers drags the case and can wear down the prosecutor.
