UP Student Made History In Her Deparment! Find Out Why!

Julia Catherina Agoncillo has made history as,the first female summa cum laude of the UP Department of History from this school,year, 2015-2016. Agoncillo will be graduating with a BA Kasaysayan this twenty-sixth day on June, and also holds a record,of being the fourth student to graduate summa cum laude from her department.

Those other summa cum laude,graduates are: Zeus A. Salazar (1955, AB History), Alfredo C. Robles, Jr. (1976, AB History) and,Ariel C. Lopez (2007, BA Kasaysayan). According to reports, Agoncillo, who has a genera,weighted average of 1.122, actually said that she did not plan to graduate with honors.

Speaking to interviewers, she said, The conscious effort to,graduate with honors came late. Entering college, the only real plan,was simply to do my best, and watch what happens.

As a student, Agoncillo had fun and,spent time with her peers, joining organizations as many as she can. But eventually, she realized that,it was a wrong decision, thinking that being active in all organizations is impossible,so she settled to let go of a few.

I was an active member of six organizations,at one point in college before I realized how ridiculous my situation was! Eventually, I limited myself to four,organizations, serving as an officer in the UP Marine Biological,Society (UP MBS).

And included, "I was most active in UP MBS given my,advocacy on the marine environment, as well as my hobbies of swimming,and diving." She also stated that her study,habits isn't anything special, but an effective time management,and note-taking are her secrets to success.

I doubt there is anything special,about the way I study, but efficient time management is everything. If you make it a point to pay close,attention in class,and take decent notes, you won’t have to set aside much time to study,after classes. It also pays to be organized.

Finally, stay sane by finding,other things to do than just study: pick up a hobby, enjoy a drink with family and friends, indulge,in your favorite television series, she concluded.
