Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” to judge a burger cook-off between two contestants; he had to choose between a Bison and Chorizo Double Stacked Burger versus a Filipino-inspired Adobo Pan de Sal Burger.<br />

While promoting his new show “The F Word” (F means food) to air this week, Ramsay had to choose between the two versions of burger based on his taste preference.<br />
<br />
The Adobo Burger was prepared by Maura Hohman, a 25-year-old New Yorker who loves Filipino and Italian cuisine. She calls it ‘The Filipino-inspired Pork Adobo Burger.’ The burger patty was made from grounded bacon, infused with essential adobo flavors: vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaves, and lots of garlic.<br />
<br />
Ramsay admired Hohman’s burger and also recognized that she used the Filipino favorite ‘Pan de Sal’ instead of the usual burger bun. “It’s seasoned beautifully,” Ramsay complimented. “And the bun, that’s a traditional Filipino bread. It’s delicious.”<br />
<br />
Despite praising the rival’s dish, it still needs more seasoning according to Ramsay, and so he picked Hohman’s Filipino-inspired burger as the segment’s winner. “I’m going with the Filipino burger,” he said.<br />

Various foreigners all over the world have now been commenting and taking sides on post made by Milo Yiannopoulos, a British media personality, about Duterte’s strategy in combating the Maute siege in Marawi City, Philippines. <br />

“Anyone caught possessing a gun and confronting us with violence, my orders are shoot to kill. I will not hesitate to do it.” This is what Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte said a day after he declared martial law in Mindanao on Tuesday, May 23, due to the Maute siege in Marawi City. “If I think that you should die, you will die. If you fight us, you will die. If there is an open defiance, you will die,” Duterte said. He also added that the police will no longer need a warrant to arrest those suspected of being part of the said terrorist group.<br />

These remarks caught the attention of foreigners all over the world and garnered various reactions and opinions from them.<br />

Despite the social complexities that the country is currently facing, the Philippines managed to rank 20th among 140 countries that are reportedly able to provide “happiness” to their citizens.<br />

The result was shown in the 2016 Happy Planet Index (HPI) report of the UK-based think tank New Economic Foundation (NEF) where Costa Rica was tagged as the happiest nation on the planet, an article written by Rhodina Villanueva on The Philippine Star stated.<br />

The report also mentioned that HPI combines four elements that include life expectancy, rating for well-being, global hectares for ecological footprint, and inequality of outcomes to show how efficiently residents of different countries are using environmental resources to lead long, happy lives.<br />

Happiest nation Costa Rica registered 79.1 years for life expectancy, 7.3 rating for well-being with 10 being the highest, 2.8 global hectares for ecological footprint and 15 percent for inequality of outcomes.<br />

On the other hand, the Philippines, registered a life expectancy of 67.9 years, which is classified as “middling” or in the middle. Data was provided by the Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations.<br />
<br />
As explained by the HPI, ecological footprint refers to the average impact that each resident of a country places on the environment while inequality of outcomes mean inequalities between people within a country in terms of how long they live and how happy they feel based on the distribution in each country’s life expectancy and well-being data.<br />
<br />
Based on results, the second happiest place was Mexico, followed by Colombia and Vanuatu, which is in the Asia-Pacific region where the Philippines belongs.<br />
<br />
In fifth place was Vietnam, followed by Panama, Nicaragua, Bangladesh, Thailand, Ecuador, Jamaica, Norway, Albania, Uruguay, Spain, Indonesia and El Salvador.<br />

The Netherlands and Argentina placed 18th and 19th, respectively.<br />

President Rodrigo Duterte imagined himself running after his daughter Inday Sara’s triplets by the time of his retirement; saying he could not be happier that he will soon be a grandfather to three more children.<br />

In an article written by Trisha Macas of GMA News Online, it was disclosed that the president wishes good health on his daughter and the triplets.<br />

Last week, Inday Sara announced that she is seven weeks pregnant with triplets, explaining why she was not present during the Kadayawan Festival.<br />

Heroic act of this faithful Doberman touched,the hearts of the people resulting for this dog to be buried as a hero.<br />

This faithful dog sacrificed its own body,just to protect his owners from four cobras trying to sneak inside their home on the evening of July,11 this year at Odisha, East India.<br />

According to the Doberman’s owner, Dibakar,Raita, the dog became part of their family just for few months. Despite that short time, the Doberman,had showed his loyalty of Dibakar’s family composing of eight members.<br />

I knew something was up after finding a bottle,of champagne and two glasses hidden in my closet. So I do what any sensible man,would have done; I leave and go to my friend’s house pretending like I am going out of town. While,at my friend’s place I call up her mother, father, sister and several of her friends. I tell them how I want to give,her a big surprise by sneaking into our room with party streamers, kazoos and a,big cake with candles.<br />

5. The Big Day<br />
I had everyone meet me outside,our apartment at 8:30 in the morning. We all pile in the elevator (about 8 of us in total); her mother is,holding the cake and I’m reminding everyone to be as quiet as they can be. I put my key in and unlock the door; we all sneak,in and make our way down the hall towards the,bedroom.<br />
Well as I throw,open the door, we all yell surprise!<br />
But the surprise,was on us and there…<br />

6. Best Present Ever!<br />
The surprise was actually on,us and there was my wife, butt naked with her lover staring at us wide eyed. Mom drops the cake, sister screams, the father begins,to shout. I pretend like I’m horrified to which her friends try to push,everyone out while yelling at her. My wife, excuse me, ex-wife is sobbing and screaming how could I while the,lover is desperately trying to put his pants on while running out of the place. Needless to say, it was,one of the best birthday presents I have ever given.</div>

After a video of a blind father and his 5-year old,daughter was released, it gained a lot of attention from the netizens and quickly became viral. In,the video, the girl guides his father as they make their way to copra farm where he would climbs,coconut trees for living.

Nelson Pepe, also known as "Dodong", earns around P300 a,day by climbing almost 60 coconut trees with P5 pesos per tree. Despite his disability, he still manages,to this everyday just so he can provide for his family. But to do this, he still need,help and her daughter "Jenny" is doing a good job on it. This touched the hearts of the netizens until it reached,Rated K, an evening program in ABS-CBN hosted by Korina Sanchez.

The Rated K team went to Sogod, Sorsogon to,pay a visit to the family. Firstly, they brought him to Manila to have his eyes checked. Unfortunately, the doctors,said that he might no be able to regain eyesight due to retinal detachment and,retinitis pigmentosa. According to the doctors, this is somehow hereditary. And so, Rated K decided to,have Jenny checked-up as well. Good news is, her eyes are perfectly fine.

With the help of ABS-CBN and Rated K, Dodong will have,an undergo livelihood training. The local Social Welfare would also give them a,capital of P10,000 to start up a Sari-sari store. Furthermore, he will be given seeds of Ampalaya and pigs,for additional income. Finally, Rated K also helped to relocate the family to,Barangay Libas, a safer environment. </div>
