Senator Tito Sotto slammed the proposal to decriminalize the illegal drugs in the Philippines as an alternative to the action of the Duterte administration against narcotics.<br />
<br />
Legalizing illegal drugs may only hurt the families of the victims of drug related cases like rape and murder because it will only give more chances to the drug addicts to use the dangerous illegal drugs.<br />
<br />
He also said that only ‘drug users’ will think a proposal like that.<br />
<br />
Last week, Vice President Leni Robredo urged the government to study the actions of Portugal against illegal drugs by decriminalizing it and to focus only in rehabilitation of the drug users.<br />

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa on Friday blasted a foreign media report on two supposed senior police officials claimed that the PNP is involved in the killing of drug suspects.<br />
<br />
A report from Reuters mentioned two police officials, a retired police intelligence officer and an active-duty commander, claiming that the killings were performed by several police officers.<br />
<br />
The cops who also killed criminals will receive 10,000 pesos per head.<br />

Bato said that the story released by the foreign media was only pure hearsay and report didn’t showed some evidence that would prove their claims.<br />

He also believes that the media only inventing negative stories about War On Drugs to harass the PNP.<br />

“For all we know creation lang ng media ‘yan para takutin kami. Ike-claim ko na creation ng media iyan hangga’t hindi n’yo hinaharap sa akin ‘yan,” Dela Rosa told reporters.<br />
<br />
Bato challenged the foreign media to reveal the identity of the said police officers that they interviewed and he would face them to answer all the issues.</div>

Phillipines representative for the United Nations Teddy Locsin slammed Vice President Leni Robredo after he heard the news that the lady politician considered the decrimnalization of illegal drugs like shabu or methamphetamine in the Philippines.<br />

In a forum in the University of the Philippines, she urged the student to offer an alternative to the government’s war on drugs like decriminalizing the possession of illegal drugs.<br />
<br />
The Vice President mentioned Portugal as an example of a ‘triumphant’ action against illegal drugs by decriminalizing the possession of it and focus in rehabilitating them.<br />
<br />
“Why don’t we look at the best practices and try them, because we have enough lessons in the past from other countries to determine what works and what doesn’t,” she told the students of U.P<br />

But Teddy Locsin didn’t like the suggestion of the Vice President and he labeled the lady politician as ‘idiot’ on his twitter post.<br />

In his tweet, Locsin said that legalizing illegal drugs is like legalizing the drug-related crimes like rape and murder.<br />
<br />
“This woman is a real idiot. Let’s legalize murder while we’re at it and rape as well. Legalize use you cartelize pushing,” Locsin said in his tweet.<br />
<br />
Locsin also claimed that the Vice President ‘proposed legalizing drug use to legalize drug pushing’, but the supporters of Leni Robredo said that decriminalizing is different in legalizing.<br />

Horacio Villegas who calls himself a ‘messenger of God,’ has warned the people about the global nuclear war that would terribly destroy the world. According to him, it is bound to happen in just a few weeks away, as disclosed in the Daily Star report.<br />

This was based on the Php 630 million the family owes from illegal and unauthorized use of the property from 2003 to March 21, 2009 and the Php 10.4 million monthly rent from April 2008 until it was given over to the government.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Rufino-Prieto dismissed their debts after maneuvering through several court cases and continued to charge rentals from over 400 stores for 14 years after its lease expired in 2002.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The Sunvar debt is a “measly rent of P360 per square meter per month government is asking Sunvar to pay—a give-away price in a prime area where rents are at least P50,000 per sq. m. per month.”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Supreme Court (SC) issued a decision on 2012 that urged the elite family to pay ASAP the debts that they owe to the State.</span><br />

The factual issue of whether respondent has paid rentals to petitioners from the expiration of the sublease to the present was never raised or sufficiently argued before this Court. Nevertheless, it has not escaped the Court’s attention that almost a decade has passed without any resolution of this controversy regarding respondent’s possession of the subject property.”</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Despite the intervention of the SC, the lower court took three years to issue a decision. Metropolitan Trial Court Judge Barbara Aleli Briones in July 2015 ordered Sunvar to pay only P555 million, a mere 30% of what they owe.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">It was until the case reached Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 141 Maryann Corpus-Manalac and MRTC Branch 59 Judge Winlove Dumayas that the Rufino-Prieto family had their way and was granted control of the property.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Tiglao pointed out that when the Mile Long property was being guarded over by former President Macapagal-Arroyo, their news arm, Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) “demonized” Arroyo and continuously publicized alleged corruption scandals.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">However, when former President Benigno Aquino III took seat and suspended the case on the questionable lease of their properties, PDI “unabashedly idolized and supported” his administration.</span><br />

Years ago, I was skeptical at Duterte. I heard rumors that he was a feared “berdugo”(executioner of criminals). Curfews at night. No smoking in certain areas, Liquor bans. Maximum 40 kph on the road???!!!<br />
<br />
But unknowingly, my MANY TRIPS TO DAVAO to sing for many years OPENED UP CONVERSATIONS with the people there. I was shocked yet CURIOUSLY AMAZED that taxi drivers, ordinary employees LOVE & RESPECT him! In their own words, Duterte was THE EXACT OPPOSITE of the MANY ACCUSATIONS.<br />
<br />
Many say this is because the Mayor PROTECTED THEM FROM EVIL.<br />
<br />
In my circles, most of the people who judge Duterte as an ill leader have NEVER BEEN TO DAVAO to witness his reforms first-hand.<br />
<br />
And if Duterte’s ways are really off, will not Davao and the surrounding Muslim world rebel and oust him even in earlier days?<br />
<br />
I must admit, WITHOUT MY MANY CONVERSATIONS WITH PEOPLE FROM DAVAO, I would not realize who Duterte really is. So from my heart, thank you so much Davaoenos for showing me Duterte’s truth in real everyday life.<br />
<br />
Perfection is out of the question. All Presidentiables don’t have every single person rooting for him/her. If you have some intelligence groups, you’ll know that INSIDE the same party, politicians that dislike each other ARE FAKING smiles onstage & on TV commercials….even holding hands for shared goals:)<br />
I put this argument on the shelf, as it is a waste of time. The voices of the majority of Davao, the surrounding Muslim areas, and the militant groups in Mindanao are clear on Duterte.<br />
<br />
My conscience finds it difficult to join those who say “Duterte will never be able to do that—-curb crime in 3 to 6 months!”. So if that’s true, WHERE WILL I GO? To Mar Roxas who promises to MAINTAIN/CONTINUE “Daang Matuwid”?<br />
I love President Noynoy Aquino for the LIFT he gave our country from the previous regime, but until today our issues on transportation systems (from the MRT to the Airport) are still in a mess, with VERY MINIMUM ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE WRONG. Wanna check Yolanda funds for accountability?<br />

Or how many have you seen convicted of hazing deaths? ZERO. Powerful government officials(belonging to the same fraternities) fly the murderers out of the country until we all forget. You won’t forget if the hazing death is your son.<br />

  When you pay steep taxes and CANNOT see a simple walkalator operate in your own airport, or roads repeatedly break into potholes after moderate rain...<br />
Isn’t it true, what foreigners say, that most government transactions require some form of "under the table" fees to get through the RED TAPE? And since rules are not consistently enforced, DOING THE WRONG THING (bribes, tax evasion, counterflow traffic, littering, etc.) IS EASIER compared to doing the right thing?<br />
<br />
Have you been robbed? Does our present government protect you well and give just punishment to the robber? Do you feel safe? Do CCTV footages just show you HOW POWERLESS WE ARE AGAINST CRIME?<br />
<br />
Are the people who ran away with money in pyramid scams, estafa, etc. jailed for good when they victimize you? Or do they GO FREE inspite of you paying lawyers to do their best?<br />
<br />
And if criminals are successfully jailed, is it true that they become “kings” in Bilibid prison with money-making businesses like cooking shabu?<br />
<br />
I am voting for Duterte because he DID IT IN THE MICRO(Davao). I saw him change what many(including myself)thought to be UNCHANGEABLE—-the corrupt system of governance.<br />
<br />
So I will put my hopes and faith that Duterte will do THE SAME in the MACRO(whole Philippines). Even if he takes more than 6 months, I’ll still support him. Rather than ACCEPT THE STATUS QUO of governance, crime, corruption and drugs.<br />
<br />
Isn’t it ironic that Duterte—-who has DRASTICALLY CHANGED the CROOKED SYSTEM in micro Davao—- is being trashed by some as a joke in favor of those WHO HAVE NOT SIGNIFICANTLY CHANGED CORRUPT GOVERNANCE? And some expect these people to run MACRO Philippines?<br />
<br />
I have to give a clap for Duterte opponents trying to DISTORT him being a tough, fearless, disciplinarian father THAT DAVAO LOVES & RESPECTS into a tyrant who will take away your candy, be like Marcos, choke you into Martial Law, and kill a law-abiding citizen like yourself.<br />
<br />
If one day you come FACE-TO-FACE WITH REAL EVIL(murder, rape, robbery), believe me, you will CALL DUTERTE for help.<br />
<br />
I’ll say it again: P-Noy has lifted us up, but there is STILL SO MUCH THAT I DON’T WANT MAINTAINED or CONTINUED in “Daang Matuwid.”<br />
I believe this country deserves BETTER—-someone to RAISE THE STANDARD HIGHER.<br />
<br />
I also do NOT agree with those who say “do not vote for Duterte because he is a womanizer and he curses a lot…” Maybe to them THE PRIMARY ROLE of governance is a SQUEAKY CLEAN MORAL IMAGE or DIPLOMATIC EXCELLENCE. If that's the case, Grace Poe and Mar Roxas can easily fit those roles.<br />
<br />
But if you, like me, believe that THE PRIMARY ROLE of government is to RESTRAIN and PUNISH EVIL, GIVE BACK JUSTICE to the Filipinos who are so tired of living without it, then Duterte is your ONLY CHOICE.<br />
<br />
I will NOT choose another candidate OUT OF FEAR OF DUTERTE. I choose Duterte out of strong FAITH in him.<br />
<br />
I say, Go Duterte, give the Philippines hope in CHANGING THE EVIL WE HAVE BECOME SO ACCUSTOMED TO!<br />

Manila Times quoted a source of theirs at the Supreme Court that said Chief Justice Lourdes Aranal-Sereno “hostaged” the release of the resolution which indicated the payment scheme Marcos needed to make, thus making it difficult for the former senator to pay on time.<br />

The source added that the court en banc ruled on Marco’s poll protest way back in March 21, 2017, however, Marcos’ lawyer George Erwin Garcia only received the resolution on April 10, 2017 (Monday).<br />

“Inipit ni Sereno yung resolution ni Bongbong. Biruin mo March 21 pa na en banc yan tapos ilalabas niya kung kailan Holy Week para gipitin si Bongbong sa pagbabayad ng protest nya,” the unnamed source said.<br />

By rule, if Marcos is unable to pay on time, his poll protest will be dismissed.<br />
<br />
Luckily, the Rules of Court state that “if the last day to comply with the order of the court falls on a holiday, the payment or compliance shall be made on the next working day.”<br />
<br />
In the case of Marcos, while he is given only until April 14, 2017 (Friday) to pay Php 33 million, the Rules of Court will allow him to pay on April 17, 2017 (Monday) due to the holy week holidays.<br />
<br />
Vice President Leni Robredo is also ordered to pay for the poll protest. She is to pay Php 15.4 million to be paid by installment of Php 8 million on or before April 14, 2017 (Friday) and Php 7.4 million on or before July 14, 2017 (Friday).<br />
<br />
The process for Marco’s poll protest case is that a ponente will make the resolution draft agreed on during the en banc. After which, the draft will be sent to the chief justice for approval before it is released.<br />

Before he flew to Middle East for his week-long state visit to three middle east countries, President Duterte spoke about how ABS-CBN allegedly committed estafa by not airing the commercial that he already paid.<br />

“ABSCBN, inestafa ako niyan. ABSCBN accepted my money kasi noon, at the later part of the campaign..when I got the money sa mga well-meaning supporters, nagbili ako ng airtime para naman masali and pangalan ko ..Hindi lumabas,”<br />

He also said that the media company didn’t even offered to return his money.<br />

The President even cursed the media company when he remembered an incident of a child allegedly forced to danced in a lewd madder in live television in exchange for P10,000 in a noon time show of ABS-CBN on 2011.<br />

He said that the media company was “nonchalant” or unconcerned when the incident happened.<br />
<br />
“Did you (take) to task (someone for) the incident? Sino ang pinagbintangan ninyo? Ang idemanda ninyo, yung nanay. P—– I—- ABSCBN. Kung (mag)palabas ng objectionable na child abuse. Nonchalant,” he said.<br />
<br />
Duterte also mentioned Inquirer for not allegedly not paying the right taxes.<br />
<br />
He said that Inquirer searching for the funds and asking why people are desperate to occupy vacant houses while they allegedly not paying the right taxes.<br />
<br />
Duterte mentioned the former BIR commissioner Kim Henares as one of the involved in the alleged tax evasion committed by the number one newspaper in the Philippines.<br />
<br />
“Tapos ang taxes ninyo, nilakad ni Heneras. It ended up wala kayong binayad. Tapos sasabihin niyo, ‘Saan ang pera ng Pilipino? Bakit ho nagpapatayan na… ang mga Kadamay pati sundalo kasi nag aagawan na…,'” he said.<br />

Guillermina Barrido Arcillas, a businesswoman from Davao, appeared before the media accusing Antonio Trillanes and Leila De Lima of bribing her to testify against President Duterte at the International Criminal Court (ICC). According to Guillermina, Trillanes and De Lima offered her P1 million for her testimony against Duterte, adding that she already received an initial payment of P300,000.<br />
<br />
Per Sass, Trillanes has been using people who would tell the same narrative that they withdrew support because of some sort of "awakening" as he wants to influence public opinion against Duterte.<br />

Lascañas, who earlier accused President Rodrigo Duterte of ordering killings in Davao City through the Davao Death Squad (DDS), left the Philippines last Saturday, April 8, citing security reasons. His family flew a month ahead of him, Lacson said.<br />
<br />
The senator had led the one-day probe into Lascañas testimony last March 6.<br />
<br />
"His family had left for Singapore even before he testified at the Senate hearing, so that could be his personal reason for leaving. It may be worth to find out who spent for his and his family's trips and accommodations in Singapore which is an expensive place to stay," said Lacson, who also left the country to avoid persecution during the Arroyo administration.<br />

"Contrary to reports that he left quietly, I don't see that since he allowed himself to be accompanied by a news reporter. Anyway, that will also be mentioned in the committee report that we are drafting which will be reported out in the plenary after we resume session on May 2," the senator added.<br />
<br />
Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III questioned why Lascañas, who is set to face serious charges, was able to leave.<br />
<br />
"Daming kaso nun ah! Bakit nakaalis?" Sotto said in a text message.<br />
<br />
Asked who should be held liable, he said: "I don't know."<br />
<br />
"It's not the guilt that worries me, he admits the guilt. It's the avoidance of confrontation when faced with his two testimonies that raises an eyebrow; three if you count the media statements that differ from the rest," Sotto added.<br />
<br />
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed that Lascañas flew to Singapore on Saturday, with BI Spokesperson Antonette Mangrobang saying there is no lookout bulletin or hold departure order for the retired Davao City cop.<br />
<br />
"Mr Lascañas did not have any immigration lookout bulletin order or hold departure order issued against him that could have delayed or prevented his departure. Hence, he was cleared to depart on board Tiger Airways flight to Singapore," Mangrobang said.<br />
<br />
Lascañas appeared in a press conference at the Senate last February 22 to corroborate the claims of self-confessed hitman Edgar Matobato about the DDS.<br />
<br />
The former Davao City policeman had initially denied the existence of the DDS, but said in the March 6 hearing that he had only been forced to lie. </div>
