Department of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol shared a real case of extra-judicial killings in the person of a farmer leader who was shot in the head twice on November 29, 2014 by unidentified assailants.
Using his Facebook page, DA secretary said the farmer was Rolando Pango and his cases remained unsolved up to date which happened during the regime of ex-President Benigno ‘PNoy” Aquino III.
Piñol also said in his facebook post that he already endorsed the case to Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald Bato dela Rosa.
“Yesterday, I endorsed to the Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Director General Ronald dela Rosa, the case of Rolando Pango who was shot in the head twice on Nov. 29, 2014 by unidentified assailants,” Piñol added.
The DA Secretary will also seek help from the National Bureau of Investigation to assist the PNP in conducting investigation to solve these killings.
“Through this page, I am calling on all witnesses who may have information on the killing of Pango and the other farmer leaders to come forward and help give justice to the victims.”
Pango was a leader of group of sugar workers in their struggle to own part of Hacienda Salud in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
