Marites Flor, the Filipina hostage taken by the,Abu Sayyaf group arrived at the Davao City Police Office this afternoon together with incoming Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza.
Flor was presented to President-elect,Rodrigo Duterte after the change of command ceremony held by PNP Davao.
Duterte said there will come a day,when he will face the bandits.
“I really do not want any arguments,with anybody. But there will be a time. I just don’t want to say when. That I will have to confront,Abu Sayyaf,” Duterte said on his speech.
Flor expressed her gratitude to all,those who supported and helped her.
“Everything is fine with me now because,I was able to be freed and alive at that. I want to thank those who helped me. To Sir Jes Dureza, To Gov. Sakur Tan and to,President Rodrigo Duterte,” Flor said emotionally.
Incoming Presidential Adviser Jesus,Dureza said, there were no negotiations that transpired. He also did not comment if there were,any ransom given.
He said, Sulu Governor Sakur,Tan was one of those who made Flor’s release possible.
Flor is one of ASG’s kidnap,victims on Samal island in September 2015 together with Canadians Robert Hall and John Ridsdel who,were both killed by the rebel group.
However, Norweigan Kjartan,Sekkingstad is believed to be still with the ASG.
Dureza said, Norweigan officials,asked President-elect Duterte to help with the release of Sekkingstad.
“The Norweigan foreign minister,and Pres-elect Duterte talked when he was in Oslo, on the phone. And he has earnest request for President-elect,Duterte for the release of the Norwegian and the other hostage,” Dureza said.
Meanwhile, incoming president Duterte warns,anew against police officials who are involved in illegal drugs.
